It's Raining Thoughts and Ideas

“The way to get good ideas is to get lots of ideas and throw away the bad ones.” – Linus Pauling
Now all of the following ideas I mention may not be a part of the final project. And that is okay. In fact, only one idea may be incorporated into the final finishes. Maybe even none. But that is okay. As Linus Pauling once said, it takes a lot of bad ideas and thoughts before the best idea appears. It is simply brainstorming.
So, here are a few ideas that may or may not be a part of the final project.
1.     Relatable: The first idea my group and I considered was to title the magazine Relatable. This is still the leading concept. We want to make a magazine that speaks directly to teens and young adults. We want to make that one on one connection with each reader and make the feel like they can look to our magazine for inspiration and advice.
2.     Issue/subscription: My group mates and I have written down concepts for each issue of the magazine. We thought to ourselves, “How will viewers subscribe to our magazine?”, “Will it be issued weekly, monthly, etc.?” We finally narrowed our subscription down to monthly. We want to give readers a taste of Relatable Magazine each month and include insightful information pertaining to that time of the year.
3.     January: My groupmates and I created concepts for each month. After visualizing 12 different magazine issues, we narrowed it down to three because there are three of us. Hayley took on the role of creating our June issue, focusing on the beginning of summer. Madison took on the role of creating our December issue, focusing on the holidays. And I took on the role of creating out January issue, focusing on the idea of the New Year and looking ahead into how the year 2017 will look.
This is just one days worth of ideas. Now that we have our magazine genre, our monthly plan for each magazine, and flowing ideas, we are on track to creating a master piece.
Again, these are just ideas. They are not finalized or written in stone. They are just what my groupmates and I have brainstormed. Concepts that will lead us to the finishing product. Idea that may be thrown out to get to the good ones.
